The Austin music community is a rich network of new and old styles, country and rock, Tejano and polka, classical and jazz. Known everywhere as the "live music capital of the world," Austin showcases the best in music every night of the week, in dozens of venues all around town and in the surrounding areas.

    Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau - The Music Marketing Office promotes the "Live Music Capital of the World" as a premiere business and travel destination.

    Austin Music Network - The City of Austin created the Austin Music Network as an economic development project to showcase local music and musicians. The Austin Music Network operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be found on Channel 15 on both Time Warner Warner and Grande Communications stations.     Austin Music Economic Impact Study - A City of Austin study that describes how music affects the economy of Austin. The study also describes various ways that the music community can be enhanced and promoted by the City and others.

    Austin Music Commission - Appointed by the Austin City Council to review issues relating to the music industry, the Music Commission meets monthly. All meetings are open to the public. Site includes current issues and a page of music-related links.

    Austin Songwriters Group - Austin Songwriters Group (ASG) supports and celebrates Austin area songwriters. ASG is a professional non profit organization [501(c)3].

    Hire a Musician - The Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau offers assistance in booking a local musician for your next meeting, corporate function or party.

    Humble Time - The Texas Songwriters Radio Showcase, Weekly syndicated radio show featuring singer-songwriters recorded live

    Parks and Recreation Department - Check its calendar for a variety of events that include musical performances. The department also sponsors seasonal offerings such as the Trail of Lights and summer concerts including one on July 4. Zilker Hillside Theater is another venue for musical events.
