AVO HELPS IFO : April 2004 Singer-Songwriter Showcase
in Houston
Thanks to everyone who came out to see AVO 'Founding Ensemble' 2004 members, Carolyn Wonderland and Wayne Sutton participate in two 'Singer/Songwriter Showcases' benefiting 'Instruments for Orphans': and special guests Malcolm 'Papa Mali' Welbourne, Scott Daniels and JP Congo, and of course the Last Concert Cafe in Houston for hosting us.

PREMIERES WOW MUSIC CROWDS
In a sign of great things to come, the premiere gigs of the Austin Volunteer Orchestra: 'Founding Ensemble' went off in style in both Houston and Austin. AVO headlined the first full-out fundraisers -- at Houston's indomitable Last Concert Caféé and The Parish in Austin -- for Instruments for Orphans (IFO), an Austin-based charity that collects musical equipment for, and gives musical instruction to, children in Children's Provider Homes. IFO is a darling effort we here at AVO want to see grow with our help.

 AVO KIDS MUSIC ENSEMBLE PERFORMS AT 2004 ACL FESTIVAL
The Austin Volunteer Orchestra: 'Kids Music Ensemble' performed at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on Sept. 19, 2:30 pm at the Austin Kiddie Limits Stage. The Ensemble featured Carolyn Wonderland, Matt Hubbard, Charlie Prichard, & Wayne Sutton. AVO has helped again in coordinating many of the artists from the IFO KID'S MUSIC CD PROJECT into a rotating ensemble in children's music. AVO Kid's Music Ensemble: comprised of all-IFO volunteers performed at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on Sept. 19, 2:30 pm at the Austin Kiddie Limits Stage. Halloween weekend-long IFO will be collecting donated music books and equipment from the fans in Houston. Austin Volunteer Orchestra(featuring IFO Director Carolyn Wonderland) will headline the night with Scott Daniels Band opening. Almost every musician on stage this night has help IFO along the way with their advice and actions. Just coming out for a great time supports these artists and IFO. Thanks to all.
